VENTURI Formula E Team has decided to strengthen its links with Arthur LECLERC as he sets out on his maiden German F4 season this weekend (27th-28th April). The 18-year-old Monegasque racing talent will receive additional support from VENTURI in the form of a junior driver development programme, including more time in the team’s simulator alongside immersion sessions during additional races on the Formula E calendar.
“I’m delighted to be continuing my partnership with VENTURI. I’ve learned a lot from them over the last 12 months. I’ve been touched by the support which Gildo PASTOR and Susie WOLFF have given me. This will allow me, outside my German F4 races, to keep finding out more about the new world of Formula E. It’s a championship that is always evolving; it has a young, modern side to it which I like, and to be involved in it at this stage of my career is a great thing for a young driver.”

A LOGICAL NEXT STEP
Over the last year, Monegasque national, Arthur LECLERC, has become a familiar face at the team chaired by Gildo PASTOR and led by Susie WOLFF. LECLERC put in a solid performance at the Marrakech Rookie Test on 13 January 2019 (alongside reserve driver Norman NATO) during which the Monegasque driver proved his competence in the VENTURI VFE-05.
AN OBVIOUS CHOICE
For almost 20 years, the VENTURI brand has been flying the flag for the Principality. Its Monegasque identity is central to its DNA. VENTURI Formula E Team is the only motorsports team based in Monaco, the world capital of motorsport. Bringing in Arthur LECLERC, a young Monegasque talent, was therefore an obvious choice for Gildo PASTOR and Susie WOLFF. For his part, Arthur LECLERC was keen to be involved with a team that means a lot to him, with which he has much in common, and that will open up new opportunities in the future for him.
“When Arthur took part in the Rookie Test in Marrakech (on 13 January 2019), we noticed that he had become more mature. Arthur is a composed, intelligent young man who listens, and whose ability to analyse and take a step back is frankly astonishing given his youth and limited experience in motorsports. Add to this his fantastic speed and Monegasque nationality, and you’ll understand just how delighted I am to be able to count him as one of us. He knows that I will be following his performance in the German F4 this year very closely, and doing everything I can to improve his knowledge of Formula E.”

A STRAIGHT PATH
Having won the Kart Racing Academy championship at the age of 14, Arthur joined the FFSA Academy in 2018 and competed in the France F4 championship. In his very first year of driving single-seaters, Arthur chalked up one pole position (Spa) and two wins (Nogaro and Magny-Cours), and finished the year in fifth place in the overall final standings. His desire to enter a championship as competitive as the German F4 in 2019 leaves no doubt as to the extent of his ambition.
“The early part of a drivers professional career is such an exciting time – it’s a period of such rapid development and growth and it’s also a time when having the right people around you can make an enormous difference. I’ve watched Arthur closely and I believe that he has real potential. I’m looking forward to seeing how his season progresses, he’s a championship contender in my view and I hope to see him battling it out at the front of the pack in Formula 4.”
