Jenson Button ENGAGED: F1 ace pops the question to former Playboy model Brittny Ward… less than three years after divorce from Jessica Michibata.
Former Formula One driver Jenson Button is engaged to his former Playboy model partner Brittny Ward.
Brittny, 27, revealed the happy news by sharing a romantic snap of the pair looking deep into one another’s eyes along with the caption ‘soon to be Mrs Button’ and a ring emoji.
The couple have been dating since March 2016, three months after his split from model wife Jessica Michibata was confirmed.
In the photo the newly-engaged couple posed up barefoot on a beach in matching navy outfits, with Jenson,38, donning a suit and tie, and Brittny flashing her toned legs in a silk gown.
The brunette beauty lovingly held her new fiance’s face, while flashing her new diamond engagement ring.
In January, on her beau’s 38th birthday, Brittny posted a sweet tribute to her beau, writing: ‘Happy birthday to my favorite human being! You’ve shown me the type of love that I thought only existed in silly fairly tales.
‘I can’t believe I’ve captured my very own unicorn. Never letting go.’
Jenson and ex-wife Jessica – who tied the knot in a lavish Hawaiian ceremony in December 2014 – called time on their relationship just one year later but remain on good terms.
A spokesperson for Jenson told MailOnline at the time: ‘Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no one else involved.’
Jenson and Jessica first met in 2008 in a hotel bar in Tokyo and began dating eight months later.
Their relationship experienced ups and downs and they split for a short time in 2011 before he proposed in 2014, with a ring worth £250,000.
Unlike conventional married couples, Jenson revealed the pair did not live together throughout their marriage due to their busy careers.
‘We don’t see each other any more than before we were married,’ he admitted in an interview with Mail On Sunday in 2015.
The TAG Heuer model shared a modest flat with her mother in Tokyo, while the sportsman’s home is in tax haven Monaco.
‘Jessie still works a lot in Japan,’ he went on to explain. ‘She enjoys her job, she models, she had a television show and has done a Japanese film.
‘She enjoys working, which is great, but it obviously means that we don’t see each other very often.’
Jessica – born to an Argentine father and a Japanese mother – had often been seen supporting her husband from the sidelines as he took part in the world’s biggest races.
Jessica has also moved on from her romance with Jenson and gave birth to her first baby, a girl named Joy, in October 2017.
She has not revealed the identity of her baby’s father.
She took to Instagram to announce the arrival of her daughter, sharing a cute snap.
She first added a caption in English reading: ‘Words cannot describe how happy I feel and how much love I have for this beautiful soul…
‘Welcome to the world Joy Thank you for choosing me as your mother, I will love you forever and ever and ever.’
