At Chaalis on Saturday, Prince Albert II inaugurated two new roses bearing the names of his children. – reports HelloMonaco.com
A tradition among the Grimaldi has been respected once again for the newest generation, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella. At the Chaalis Abbey, about forty kilometres from Paris, the sovereign took part in the “Journées de la rose” as a sponsor, where he was able to see the two new strains of roses named after his children.
The flowers were created by François Félix, from Isère, who worked for eight years on the two varieties of roses. A purple colour for Prince Jacques, and pink tone for Princess Gabriella.
The Princess Gabriella rose will be available in the fall of 2019 and the Prince Jacques rose will be available the following year.
