Smeralda 888 / J/70 – Cannes Sailing Cup
Fourth stage in the International Smeralda 888 Championship, the Cannes Sailing Cup took place under the best auspices bringing together seven teams. The top three were separated by just three points, with Marco Favale (Millenium Falcon) winning the event ahead of Timofey Sukhotin (Beda) followed by Paolo Rotelli (Black Star). The results have spiced-up the provisional ranking which is still led by the owner of Beda. Contestants will be back out on the water again on 29th June in Porto Cervo for the circuit’s fifth event.
Also present on the Cannes race area was the J/70 fleet of six boats, five of which were from the YCM. After four races over the three days, Loïc Pompée (Allo 3) emerged as the winner ahead of the YCM Sports Section’s Rémi Piazza at the helm of Mistral.
