Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing a new left-back this summer and could rival Manchester United for the signing of Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy.

The 22-year-old Benjamin Mendy been in superb form for the Ligue 1 giants this season, showing himself to be the perfect attack-minded full-back for the Gunners’ system.

Mendy has an impressive record of eight assists from defence this term, showing himself to be a capable contributor to Monaco’s free-flowing attack.

Arsenal are looking into a number of options in that position, with claiming Kieran Tierney of Celtic is another top priority, along with Valencia’s Jose Gaya.

Manchester United have also been linked with Mendy lately, with claims that the Frenchman could be in line to replace the out-of-favour Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.

Arsenal, however, seem ready to make big changes at left-back, with doubts over the futures of both Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal in that department.
